模擬造句 Sentence imitations


寫出好句子的捷徑, Sentence imitations, 只要模擬作家的句子,不需要懂文法規則,一樣可以寫出像樣的東西.

My own sentences:
Driving through the desert on the way to Las Vegas was like we were driving through a sea of caramel.


3. The author's sentences:
The secrecy surrounding cereals like Lucky Charms seemed silly.

My own sentences:
The mystery about superstitions like "A person who walks under a ladder will have bad luck," seems silly, but many people would rather believe it than ignore it.


4. The author's sentences:
The more anxious we are about eating, the more likely we are to listen to claims from food marketers.

My own sentences:
The more advice you get from others, sometimes the more likely you'll get confused.


5. The author's sentences:
My first found mushroom had become a victim of this very dilemma. Not a very promising way to start.

My own sentences:
My first written essay had become a victim of the strict instructor. Not a very good way to begin the course.


6. The author's sentences:
It can be hard work, hunting and gathering, but if you come away with something, it's almost by chance. You don't feel your hard work has been rewarded. You feel more like you're getting something for nothing. A gift.

My own sentences:
It can be hard work, studying and remembering, but if you come away with a good attitude, it's all about persistence. You feel your hard work has been rewarded. You feel more like you're successful and you'll have a feeling of satisfaction. An inner peace.


7. The author's sentences:
It's always better to know more rather than less, even when that knowledge complicates your life.

My own sentences:
It's always better to give than receive, even when you have limited means.


8. The author's sentences:
Backers say people have a right to know what they are eating. But opponents say labels would be costly, confusing and unnecessary.

My own sentences:
Some people believe we have a right to marry whoever we love; whereas opponents insist marriage is only between male and female.
